Miri - Mulu
oh finally, i'm more desperate to blog since Uni is going to re-open soon and to remind me of my awesome holiday before i forgets everything!almost 2 months ago *super outdated* *gosh can't believe it was so long ago*
i flew over to Miri and Mulu with four of my uni friends!
FYI, to go to Miri need to take flight just in case you all know cause apparently one Malaysian that i know (sad to say, a Malaccan some more *memalukan* ) thought there is highway to Miri, Sararak -.-''\
i was in Miri for 5 days 4 nights and in Mulu for 4 days 3 nights.
total of 9 days, it seems very long but it was really SHORT!
day 1
i traveled from Melaka - Pudu - Pasar Seni - KL Sentral - LCCT - Miri
looooog day for me! when i reached Miri, all i wanted to do was to EAT, BATHE and SLEEP!
KL and Miri weather was not as hot as Melaka so i was not in a nak pengsan state =)
we had lalapan (lapan dishes) for dinner.
i woke up at about 7am. not because i was awake but i thought i was woke up super late.
by 7am, the sun is shinning brightly in Miri unlike semananjung.
the owl in me felt very cheated by the sun. =P
Lepas breakfast, we went to the Canana Hill (which is located in Malaysia -.-'')
and Petroleum Museum! *must go*
day 3
2020 Dimsum for breakfast *must NOT do* and we went to Taman full of lazy buaya!
Later, we said goodbye to our host -.-'' and she handed over to her friends -.-||
day 4
Madam Wee's Sarawak Laksa *must do* and we went to Niah cave! *must do*
i was super excited to go Niah Cave since i heard so much about it!
The guano in Niah cave was not as stinky as all the people who went describe to me.
it was tahan-able for me =) *two thumbs up*
i was a bit disappointed actually coz i was anticipating the behtahan guano smell. haha...
The beauty of Niah cave susahnya to explain. You got to experience for yourselves =)
while walking half way to the cave, it rained heavily! we were drenched!
menambah lagi RAINforest's effect =)
when we were walking back, i was still drenched from sweat -.-''
and i casually asked how long was the trail.
"10km," someone replied.
seriously, i almost wanted to pengsan!
i didn't know it was that long and i didn't know i could walk that far.
*penuh dengan kebanggaan =D*
later, we had superb seafood that we tak sempat pun nak ambik gambar =)
and we had Desserts for dessert =)
day 5
after eggie porridge for breakfast,
and we were off to Brunei! =) *cop cop on the passport!* =)
i was really very excited coz it was my 1st time but sad to say i really can't remember the name of those places i went =/ but i remember we had excapade sushi for lunch =D *must do*
aku orang tulen Malaysia yang tak suka sushi like it a lot, i'm sure sushi lovers will love it to the bits =)
then we watched wolverine all the way in Brunei.
pelikkan, sushi and wolverine in Brunei.
we toured Brunei a bit
big cars zooming around, clean place, gaya houses, interesting stuff in grocery mall, clean air....
Before crossing over the border, we had Ben&Jerry's ice cream for fun!! *must do*
day 6
after breakfast, we flew off to Mulu with MASwings
it's a super short 30min flight but totally worth it!
i wish it was longer! i love the scenery for the flight =)
Bila sampai ke Mulu,
i was super tired and slept!
We managed to go to Deer and Langs' cave! *must do*
It was awesome to be in the caves.
It was like i entered to another magical world.
Pictures just don't justified what i saw. really!
after the 2 show caves tour, we waited for the millions of bats to fly out like ribbons from the cave *must do*
it was magically for me tho amat memenatkan neck aku.
after dinner, we ended the day by lepak-ing at the exhibition corner till we kena locked up =)
day 7
after super nice breakfast, we were off to Moonmilk Cave, Clearwater, Cave of the Winds and Turtle cave *no pic for this day. we lost one of our memory card*
to reach Moonmilk Cave *must do!!!!* , we had to climb a lot of step! it was freaking a lot.
it the website it stated 427 steps but the truth is really more than that BUT the climb was totally worth it!
it took us almost an hour to climb all the steps and 5 min to walk through Moonmilk Cave!
crazy things we do to see beautiful cave =)
Cave of the Winds was seriously windy and chilly. totally something i didn't expect at all.
Clearwater was were i got my 1st leech -.-''
Turtle Cave was my fave because we got to swim in it! *must do*
The water is very clean and so is the cave. nothing like what i imagine!
my guide must have felt amusing that i asked if the water in the cave clean that he asked Malacca don't have cave ka?
at night, we went for Night Shift.
i didn't think it was worth going since i was bitten by mozzie and big fat red ants.
day 8
we decided to for adventure caving in Racer Cave *must do*
i like it a lot but i think i would have enjoyed more if i were more fit =)
Day 8 was a super interesting day.
We sat a long boat to Racer Cave with our guide, Jonny =)
We were given headlamp =)
Racer Cave is quite small so we got to squeeze ourselves through sometimes.
after walking for 5 min, i saw a rope to climb up the passageway.
geee... i was excited yet i was freaking scared!
i was thinking to myself why did i come to this kinda place that i might die here. i remember the knots on the rope was too far apart for me to grip on to, it really scared me because my feet had difficulty stepping on the rocks and my hands couldn't reach the next knot. super -.-'' anyway, we all made it.
after that we needed to pass through a small squeezy passageway. my head couldn't go through it.
and as i was trying to take down my helmet, our guide said, "just lower down your head will do."
i was super -.-'' again. hahaha... later, i asked stupid questions like, "what if a person got super big belly, how?" and "got anyone stuck in there before?" i think now it was the guide who was super -.-''
after few min, we came to a rope again. this time it was to climb down.
yes i couldn't step on anything and i swung and my left leg hit on the rock! *bang*
vividly, i still could remember our guide calmly said to me, "no worries, you are still holding to your rope."
immediately i was in the awareness stage. i not yet die. -.-'' my arm was like going to tercabut anytime since i was just using my arm strength to hold myself. after i was more calm, i came down quite quickly.
and our guide checked my bruise and pressed onto my blue black, tears rolled down and i almost wanted to yell but i thought of the echo that i might create so i just smiled and said, "i was ok!" -.-''
while waiting for the others to climb down, i had a bit of time to breathe and got used to with the pain of my left leg.
the entire journey was amazing
the climbing up and down with the rope. it was really an exciting and fun adventure.
i really wish i was so much more fit =) in future, i hope to go again =)
to end the super gaya adventure caving, i spotted a colourful leech
After Racer Cave, we were still super semangat to walk to Paku waterfall =)
after our yummylicious dinner,
we were still semangat or more like i made myself super semangat to walk to Royal Mulu Resort.
since we weren't so rich to stay there, go there see see also puas kan!
it was a 3km walk, but after such tiring day, it was like a never ending walk!
day 9
i was quite emo to have our last meal in Mulu =|
i really like Mulu =D i wanna go again!!
We stopped sekejap at Penan village to buy some stuff before headed back to the airport.
The walk back to the airport was our last long walk! for this trip, aku dah jalan berpuluh-puluh kilometer *bangga*
at 10.10am, we said bye-bye to Mulu - Miri.
we had our last meal at Miri with our super awesome host sampai terkejar-kejar ke airport =P
We stayed over at LCCT for once in a life time experience before balik kampung the next day =D
it was an awesome, exciting and satisfying holiday trip.
my most adventurous holiday so far!
the holiday trip that i prove to myself i can walk berpuluh-puluh kilometers.
*don't play-play*cough cough*
